Enhance West Van is a registered charitable Society following a Community Governance Model. The Society’s Board of Directors are residents of West Vancouver who demonstrate :

  • a commitment to community ownership, significant volunteerism and citizen engagement
  • the know-how and energy to fundraise beyond what the District contributes.
  • the ability to identify and implement enhanced services to our diverse West Vancouver community.
  • experience in partnering with public, non-profit and private agencies to maximize our access to skills and resources.
CHAIR: PETER KATEVATIS
Peter Katevatis

Peter is the Incoming Chair and sits on the Finance Committee for Enhance West Van.

Peter has been an Investment Advisor since 1996 and currently works at Echelon Wealth Partners. He creates custom investment solutions to ensure financial goals are achieved on a journey filled with happiness and comfort.

Peter is born and raised in Vancouver, and moved to West Vancouver in 2002. He enjoys life in Dundarave with his family with his sons attending WVSS and Irwin Park Elementary. Peter is fan of all sports with a belief that physical activity is a key ingredient to good health. He coaches soccer with the West Van Football Club while also playing hockey, tennis, hiking, SUP, skiing, and can be often spotted running slowly on the seawall.

PAST CHAIR: KAREN SANDER
Karen Sander

Karen has significant insight into building cross-sector partnerships, bringing decades of experience in non-profits, including the launch of two charities that leveraged entrepreneurship to drive social change. She has played leading roles in the following organisations.

  • International Finance Corporation (Washington, DC)
  • The Obakki Foundation: micro-finance for projects in rural South Sudan
  • The Next Big Thing: a youth entrepreneur program
  • Oxfam Canada (currently the Chair)
  • Patrons Council of Vancouver General Hospital
  • The Advisory Board of the Vancouver Rent Bank

Karen believes in the power of social purpose businesses and that women leaders are drivers of social change.

Karen grew up in West Vancouver and on weekends she can be found running the trails, swimming in the sea or skiing the slopes (with a child or two in tow!).

TREASURER: VITALINA LYSSOUN
Vitalina Lyssoun

Vitalina is a Board Director of Enhance West Van and Treasurer for the West Vancouver Child Development Centre. 

Vitalina is a Chartered Professional Accountant with multi-national experience in consulting, mining and real estate.

Vitalina speaks four languages and has visited over 50 countries but believes West Vancouver is the best place to call home! She lives in Eagle Harbour with her husband and two boys who can normally be found at the beach, park or participating in various programs with the community centres.

SECRETARY: SANDY TREAGUS
Sandy Treagus

Sandy is a Board Director of Enhance West Van.  He is a certified Chartered Accountant, and Chief Financial Officer of Conair Group Inc. He has a varied and long career in construction  management, retail management, resort and leisure, technology and manufacturing.

After emigrating with his young family to Canada in 1999, Sandy spent 5 years in Whistler before moving to West Vancouver in 2004.

As his family grew up in West Vancouver, Sandy was active in youth sports coaching including track, soccer and rugby at school and club level. He continues to enjoy the Community Centre’s many offerings, and is an avid triathlete, skier and tennis player.

VICE CHAIR: MARY JO CAMPBELL
Mary Jo Campbell

Mary Jo is a Vice-President of Enhance West Van and chairs the Community Engagement and Outreach Committee.

Mary Jo was a commercial real estate lawyer in the Vancouver office of a national law firm for 21 years. She has volunteered locally on the Boards of the West Vancouver Memorial Library and its Foundation, and chaired the West Vancouver Sports Field Forum Working Group.

Mary Jo has resided in West Vancouver with her husband and three children for three decades.

VICE CHAIR: TERRI GREEN
Terri Green

Terri is a Board Director of Enhance West Van and sits on the Community Engagement and Outreach Committee. She is also the chair of our biggest annual fundraiser – Pumpkinfest.

Terri is an Associate Teacher at Mulgrave School in West Vancouver. She served as PAC chair at West Bay School, and as a member of the West Vancouver DPAC.

She has been involved with West Vancouver Minor Hockey and the West Vancouver Soccer Club. When she isn’t volunteering or working you can find her running or hiking on the North Shore.

DIRECTOR: BRUCE CAMPBELL
Bruce Campbell

Bruce is an incoming board member and Director on the Finance Committee for Enhance West Van.

Bruce has built a career in the financial services industry for over 25 years and is the Principal of Bezemer & Campbell Financial Group. Raised in Alberta, and a graduate of the University of Alberta, Bruce and his wife Kim moved to Vancouver in 1993 and have lived in West Vancouver since 1998. In his spare time, he enjoys a variety of sports including tennis, running, and skiing. He and his family have all appreciated and benefited from the community centres and various sporting associations available in West Vancouver.

DIRECTOR: TERRY HONCHARUK
Terry Honcharuk

Terry is an incoming Board member and a Director on the Governance Committee.

Born in Vancouver, Terry is a life-long North Shore resident, and has lived with his wife and two children in West Vancouver for 20 years where they continue to enjoy all the amazing experiences that the mountains, beaches, woodlands, and recreational facilities have to offer.

Terry studied at UBC and Dalhousie University, and is a lawyer practicing in the areas of employment, labour, and human rights; he runs a consulting firm with his wife that specializes in Respectful Workplace education, executive coaching, and workplace investigations.

Terry is thankful for the opportunity to serve and give back to the community through Enhance West Van.

DIRECTOR: JOANNE McKENNA
Joanne McKenna

Joanne is Board Director of Enhance West Van and a member of the Community Engagement & Outreach Committee. She has been involved in the development and delivery of the Forum for Dialogue and Learning that is hosted by Enhance West Van.

Joanne has lived in West Vancouver over 20 years. She has led the Child Care Working Group, served as a member of the Library Board, and works on neighbourhood committees for the Horseshoe Bay Park Revitalization and the Local Area Plan initiatives.

She has nearly 30 years of business experience, with a broad knowledge and understanding of government, governance, Indigenous Relations, policy and environmental issues.

DIRECTOR: RON NAIRNE
Ron Nairne

Ron is a Board Director of Enhance West Van. He has practiced law in the field of civil litigation for three decades, and is a co-founder of Sager Nairne, a West Vancouver law firm.

Ron was born and raised in West Vancouver, attending West Bay and Hillside Secondary Schools. Although he lost his way and left West Vancouver for a number of years, he returned in 2010. 

Outside of work, Ron enjoys coaching his daughter’s soccer team, hiking the local trails, and sailing.

DIRECTOR: CHARLES PIERCEY
Charles Piercey

Chuck is a Board Director of Enhance West Van, and serves on the Governance Committee.

Chuck is a lawyer and partner with Ratcliff LLP in North Vancouver. He started his legal career in the development industry and transitioned to practicing real estate, business and estate planning law in 1992. 

Chuck and his family have been residents of West Vancouver since 1996 and he has been active as a director and hockey coach with the West Vancouver Minor Hockey Association since 2012.

DIRECTOR: JATINDER SIDHU
Jatinder Sidhu

Jatinder is a Board Director of Enhance West Van, and sits on the Development and Communications Committee.

He was employed for 21 years with BBC News on TV, radio and online and has worked around the globe on features, investigations and breaking news. 

Jatinder moved to West Vancouver with his physician wife and three elementary-aged kids from London, England in 2018.  His UK volunteer roles included Beaver Scout Leader, and sitting on the public oversight committee for London’s Pentonville prison.

Here in Canada he advocated for and launched Parkrun in Ambleside – a free weekly event that encourages residents of all ages to exercise outdoors, and make new social connections. He raises puppy trainees for BC Guide Dogs, and was appointed in 2020 to the Board of Trustees for West Vancouver Memorial Library.

In his spare time Jatinder, drags his family outdoors to enjoy North Shore’s amenities for biking, skiing and kayaking.

DIRECTOR: TERESA SUN
Teresa Sun

Teresa is a seasoned investment professional and entrepreneur with expertise in investment management and business development. She has held significant positions at HFT Investment Management and Everbright Securities in China, as well as Barclays Wealth and Lehman Brothers in the United States. Teresa is also the founder of Moicco International and its clean skincare brand, BareBearBerry, based in Vancouver.

Teresa holds an M.S. in Financial Mathematics from Stanford University and a B.A. in Economics and Mathematics from Mount Holyoke College. She is a CFA charter holder and actively volunteers with the Stanford OVAL program.

Teresa and her husband Herb moved to West Vancouver in 2019, where their children attended Irwin Park elementary schools and Irwin Park Tree house. They embraced the outdoor lifestyles that West Vancouver offers, enjoying the natural beauty and recreational opportunities the area provides.

DIRECTOR: ISABELLA TABA
Isabella Taba

Isabella is a Board Director of Enhance West Van. She is an experienced engineer, and the chief strategy officer at Implant Genius, a company that leverages AI technology to improve dental implants.

As an avid private pilot, Isabella pursued a successful career in aerospace engineering. She worked with industry giants like McDonald Dettwiler and Urthecast and is proud to have worked on the earth observation project for the international space station.

Isabella has served as CEO and COO with exciting start-ups that make the world a better place. She is a member of Engineers without Borders helping those affected by natural disasters. She has raised funds to provide clean water in rural areas in the Middle East, and volunteered with the homeless in Vancouver.

Isabella has an MBA from Cornell and Queens University, an MSc in Aerospace Engineering, an MSc in Electrical Engineering and a Bachelor in Electrical Engineering.

DIRECTOR: JULIE WANG
Julie Wang

Julie is a Board Director of Enhance West Van. She has a Master’s Degree in Information Technology from the University of Nottingham in the UK. She has worked in many different countries including the UK, US and China, and also worked for many Global companies, such as HP, TCS and Capgemini. She is currently a partner of MetroData Tech. Ltd., which is a company focused in the Big Data area.

Julie has lived in West Vancouver with her husband and three children for 5 years. She enjoys hiking with her family and they are avid users of the Community Centre. Julie sits on the Community Engagement and Outreach Committee.

DIRECTOR: YANG WANG
Yang Wang

Yang is a Board Director of Enhance West Van. He is a real-estate developer in West Vancouver and holds a master’s degree in business management from the UBC, and a bachelor degree in engineering from the University of Southern California.

Yang has also been serving as a committee member with various organizations including the District of West Vancouver and West Vancouver Foundation.

Yang serves as a board director at the Lions Gate Hospital Foundation, North Shore Multicultural Society, and the West Vancouver Chamber of Commerce. Yang is also the organizer of West Vancouver’s popular Asian New Year celebrations. In his spare time, Yang is a USPA level -1 polo player.

COUNCIL REPRESENTATIVE: LINDA WATT
Councillor Linda Watt

Councillor Watt is the Enhance West Van council representative.

Linda is an energetic community advocate and longtime resident of Horseshoe Bay. She raised her two sons here on North Shore, and has a long record of community service.

She has demonstrated her commitment to improving the lives of the residents of West Vancouver.
