Program offerings include:

  • Indigenous Storytime & Craft, with Squamish Nation’s elders who will share values and teachings from their ancestors through legends, drumming, singing and crafts.
  • Coast Salish Cedar Weaving & Wool Weaving workshops.
  • Indigenous drum making.

]]> Active Rehab: Cancer Thrivers Program https://www.enhancewestvan.ca/cancer-thrivers/ Thu, 16 Jan 2025 08:18:17 +0000 http://www.enhancewestvan.ca/?p=4395 Enhance West Van funded the initial 3-year pilot project which is now integrated into the Active Rehab fitness programming offered at the West Vancouver Community Centre.

Enhance West Van continues to fund this much needed program that is designed to promote health, strength, and recovery. The program offers weekly movement classes including fitness and yoga.  Movement has been shown to increase physical function, relieve stress and increase quality of life in cancer patients.

Registration opens for Active Rehab: Cancer Thrivers fall programs on August 14th.

PumpkinFest is our biggest fundraiser of the year, bringing the community together to celebrate the harvest season. People of all ages enjoy live music, the pumpkin patch, the pony rides and petting farm and the hot-off-the-grill pancakes. PumpkinFest raises awareness about Enhance West Van and the many programs and services we support in the community.

This popular event brings community together to celebrate the harvest season. You will find people of all ages enjoying the live music, the local pumpkin patch, the pony and petting farm area and the hot off the grill pancakes.

PumpkinFest is also an opportunity to raise awareness about Enhance West Van and the many programs and services that we support in the community.

  • 5,000 people attended PumpkinFest this year!
  • 102 volunteers and over 300 volunteers hours supported the event
  • 7 local school groups performed
  • We sold 800 Pumpkins and over 400 pancake breakfasts
  • We raised over $41,000 which exceeded our fundraising goal for 2022

Enhance West Van has been working closely with the community since 2013 to develop a plan for replacing these facilities.

Replacing these facilities is an important opportunity to create a vibrant hub that continues to meet the recreational, cultural and social needs of the community.

Based on significant community input received to date, the Society has developed an Emerging Vision for the Community Centre site.

The Emerging Vision is a 20-year plan describing a proposed approach to replacing the aging site facilities in a seamless way, minimizing disruption to the major services provided to the community.

The Society is committed to ensuring the Emerging Vision continues to reflect community needs and interests for the civic site.
