BOARD CHAIR - RICK VERJEE
Born in Kenya and educated in London before immigrating to Vancouver in 1973, Rick graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration from Simon Fraser University in 1985. He spent 25 years growing his family business; manufacturing and distribution of home furnishings to N. America’s largest home furnishings retailers. After exiting the furniture business in 2009, Rick entered the luxury home development business, something he had always wanted to do. He is also an active private equity investor. Rick has been a member of the Young President’s Organization since 2007 and presently serves on the Parent board of Claremont McKenna College in California. He has previously served on numerous furniture industry boards, as well as a two-year term with the Canadian Chamber of Commerce, based in Ottawa.
Rick and his family have resided in West Vancouver since 1973 and are frequent users of the West Van Community Center.
Rick is currently Chair of Enhance West Van and has previously sat on the Finance and Community Engagement and Outreach Committees.
Bill is a regular participant at the WVan Community Centre enjoying the weight room, adult skating sessions, and yoga classes. As a grandparent, he appreciates the high quality programs for children and youth at the WVCC. Bill was a public school educator for 34 years, including 25 years as a school-based administrator at both the secondary and elementary levels. He lives a short bike ride away from the WVCC in Ambleside.
MARY JO CAMPBELL
Mary Jo was a commercial real estate lawyer in the Vancouver office of a national law firm for 21 years. She has since volunteered locally in numerous ways, including being on the Boards of the West Vancouver Memorial Library and its Foundation and chairing the West Vancouver Sports Field Forum Working Group. Mary Jo has resided in West Vancouver with her husband and three children for the past 29 years. Mary Jo currently chairs the Community Engagement and Outreach Committee and is a Vice-President of Enhance West Van.
Michael Courtenay was the Senior Vice President of Design and Construction at British Pacific Properties Limited. He was in the building and development industry for the past 40 years, with the last 30 years working in the capacity of senior management.
Michael has served as a director for The Dance Foundation, Artstart and the Greater Vancouver Home Builders Association.
Michael and his wife Joyce have been residents of West Vancouver for over 8 years and reside in Ambleside.
Michael is a current Director of the Enhance West Van Board and serves as a member of the Resource Development Committee.
Richard Fisher is the Vice-Chair for Communications at Enhance West Van where he led the recent re-branding of the organisation. Richard has 35 years of marketing and communications experience in London, New York, Toronto and Vancouver, in both the private and public sectors. He has lived in West Vancouver with his family since 2009. Richard recently founded ‘brevity.’, a communications consultancy that gets to the point. He is also studying for an MA in Liberal Studies at SFU.
Terri is a current board director and sits on the Community Engagement and Outreach Committee. She is also the chair of Pumpkinfest.
Terri is an Associate Teacher at Mulgrave School in West Vancouver. She has raised her children in West Vancouver and has been an actively involved in the Community in various roles over the years. She served as PAC chair at West Bay School and as a member of the West Vancouver DPAC. She has also been involved with West Vancouver Minor Hockey and the West Vancouver Soccer Club. When she isn’t volunteering or working you can find her running or hiking somewhere on the North Shore.
I have over 30 years of experience in the financial services industry. I hold a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Manitoba along with the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), and Chartered Market Technician (CMT) designations.
Professionally, I am a member of CFA Institute and the CMT Association. My volunteer roles with CFA Institute include past president of CFA Vancouver, past President's Council Representative (PCR) for Canada on the global Board of CFA Institute, Exam Grading, Standard Setting, the Nominating Committee and the Disciplinary Review Committee. For the CMT Association, I am a past member of the Curriculum Committee.
I was a proud volunteer for the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics serving as the timer for the Figure Skating events. This role arose from a 25-year volunteer career in Figure Skating as an internationally ranked judge. In my community, I am currently a citizen member of the District of West Vancouver finance committee and a board member of the Enhance West Van. I am involved in volunteer activities at the school our children attend and the sports that they play.
Najeeb is currently a Vice-Chair and Registrar of the BC Labour Relations Board. Prior to that he practiced labour and employment law for thirty years, including at one of Canada's largest national law firms. His professional affiliations include the Canadian Bar Association and the Law Society of British Columbia. Najeeb obtained a B.A from the University of Western Ontario and an LL.B from the University of Victoria.
Outside of the law, Najeeb enjoys hiking the North Shore mountains with his wife and daughters and their golden doodle, Harry, and playing recreational hockey. He and his family have enjoyed their experiences at the West Vancouver Community Centre over their many years living on the North Shore.
Najeeb is a current Director of the Enhance West Van Board and serves as a member of the Executive and Governance Committee.
Julie is a Director in PricewaterhouseCooper’s Assurance practice and has extensive experience working with public, private and not-for-profit entities. She is a member of the Chartered Professional Accountants of BC and holds her Bachelor of Business Administration from Simon Fraser University. Her previous volunteer experience includes being a former Director of the North Shore Meals on Wheels Society.
Julie is a third generation West Vancouver resident. She now lives with her husband and two children in the Bayridge area, who have all been avid users of the community centres.
Julie is a Director and Treasurer of the Enhance West Van Board and serves on both the Executive and Finance and Audit Committees.
Peter is born and raised in Vancouver and married into West Vancouver in 2002. He is passionate about the West Vancouver Community Centre and sits on the Finance Committee for Enhance West Van. Peter has been a dedicated Investment Advisor at Canaccord Genuity Wealth Management since 1996 serving local investors and entrepreneurs. As a fan of all sports, Peter coaches with the West Van Football Club, West Vancouver Little League, and plays organized softball & hockey.
Clark Linton is Senior Vice President and Portfolio Manager at Raymond James. Clark and his team, operating under Linton Wealth Management, develop and manage customized wealth management and investment strategies for high net worth families. He is a past Board Member and Treasurer of Irwin Park Treehouse and past member of the Raymond James Canada Foundation Advisory Committee. Clark is a current Director of the Enhance West Van Board and serves as Co-Chair of the Resource Development Committee.
Clark has lived in West Vancouver for six years. He enjoys reading, cooking for guests, keeping active with various sports, travelling and time at home with his wife and two young children.

Sara McCracken is a lawyer with Deloitte Tax Law LLP, specializing in tax and corporate/commercial law. She holds her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Queen’s University, her Bachelor of Laws from the University of British Columbia, and her Master of Law in Tax from the London School of Economics and Political Science. Sara has published articles on a wide variety of legal matters, and she is an active member of various professional organizations. Sara has previously served as a director, officer, and honorary legal counsel for other not-for-profit entities.
Sara grew up in West Vancouver, where she currently resides with her husband and two children. Sara is an avid runner and skier, and her whole family enjoys the Community Centre’s facilities and programs.
Sara is a current Director of the Enhance West Van Board and is Chair of the Governance Committee.
Joanne has lived in West Vancouver over 20 years. She has led the Child Care Working Group, been a member of the Library Board, and served on neighbourhood committees for the Horseshoe Bay Park Revitalization and the Local Area Plan initiatives.
Joanne is part of the Community Engagement & Outreach Committee and has been involved in the development and delivery of the Forum for Dialogue and Learning that is hosted by Enhance West Van. She has nearly 30 years of experience with a broad knowledge and understanding of government, governance, the utility industry, Indigenous Relations, policy and environmental issues.
Mr. Roop Mundi currently serves as President of Mundi Capital Ventures - a private equity firm focused on consumer products distribution and logistics. Included in Mundi Capital's investment portfolio, is Jilong Plastic Products (North America) Inc. which is the sales, marketing and logistics arm of Shanghai Jilong Plastic Products - the third largest PVC producer of consumer goods worldwide. Mundi Capital currently provides logistics services and solutions for Weveel Products LLC, Volm Industries Inc. and GrillTime Inc. Since it’s inception in 2015, Mundi Capital has successfully exited in three portfolio companies with an average multiple of four times total investment amount.
Prior to Mundi Capital, Mr. Mundi served as Vice President, General Counsel of RCI Capital Group Inc., a private equity firm based in Vancouver focused on Asia based transactions in the technology and energy markets. Prior to RCI Capital, Mr. Mundi was an Associate at Cassels Brock & Blackwell LLP focusing on corporate finance and securities in the real estate, technology and mining sectors.
Mr. Mundi holds a Bachelor's degree from North Carolina State University, a Master's degree from the University of Toronto and a law degree from the University of British Columbia.
Karen is an intrepid philanthropist, adventurer and mother of three. She has played leading roles in getting two innovative charities up and running in high gear.
Karen is the Charitable Giving Director of Hollyburn Properties. She was a Director of Strategic Partnerships at The Next Big Thing Foundation and Director of Foundation Development at the Obakki Foundation.
Karen is very community orientated and believes in giving back to her community - she has been part of the PumpkinFest committee for the last 2 years running the Farm Zone. She was also actively involved in running the Collingwood Spring Fair and has been involved with Vancouver Rent Bank and was previously on the Gala Committee of the North Shore Family Services for 4 years.
Karen lives in West Vancouver with her family.
Julie has a Master’s Degree in Information Technology from the University of Nottingham in the UK. She has worked in many different countries including the UK, US and China, and also worked for many Global companies, such as HP, TCS and Capgemini. She is currently a partner of MetroData Tech. Ltd., which is a company focused in the Big Data area.
Julie has lived in West Vancouver with her husband and three children for 5 years. She enjoys hiking with her family and they are avid users of the Community Centre. Julie sits on the Community Engagement and Outreach Committee.
Yang Wang is a real-estate developer in West Vancouver. Yang holds a master’s degree in business management from the University of British Columbia and a bachelor degree in engineering from the University of Southern California.
Yang serves as a board director at the Lions Gate Hospital Foundation, North Shore Multicultural Society, and the West Vancouver Chamber of Commerce. Yang is also the organizer of West Vancouver’s popular Asian New Year celebrations. Yang has also been serving as a committee member with various organizations including the District of West Vancouver and West Vancouver Foundation. In his spare time, Yang is a USPA level -1 polo player.
COUNCILLOR SHARON THOMPSON
Councillor Thompson is serving her first term as a District Councillor and continues her work of seven years as a Constituency Assistant for West Vancouver Sea to Sky MLA, Jordan Sturdy.
Sharon has been a resident of West Vancouver for 35 years, raising her three active daughters in the community. They are now through university and living around the world. During her time in West Vancouver, she has been an avid volunteer and a community leader and advocate.
Her degree in Urban Geography from UBC and diploma in Civic Engagement and Dialogue at SFU are suiting her current roles well.
