Message from Executive Director Jodi Weiderick

 

 

Happy new year!

It has been a tough start to the year, but I'm hopeful that we will be able to welcome more of the community back into the West Vancouver Community Centre in 2022.

Looking back on 2021, Enhance West Van has a lot to be proud of. We hosted our first in-person event since the start of the pandemic. Pancakes and Pumpkin Patch was a huge success and brought the community back together. We also continued to support youth and families in need through our grocery gift card program.

The Olympic Journey

 

February 1 at 6:30 p.m.

 

Join us for a special evening as we meet three local Olympians and hear their stories about the world of competitive sport, overcoming adversity, and what it takes to be an Olympic athlete.

 

Pre-registration is required to attend.

 

 

 

Meet Madison Mailey

A 2021 Olympic gold medallist and recipient of the Duke of Edinburgh gold award, Madison is a local athlete and ambassador who followed her passion in the sport of rowing and is now a celebrated Olympic leader. Her story will inspire any young athletes who have big dreams.

Public Art at the Community Centre

 

We are excited to announce that the Small Worlds public art piece by artist Brent Comber has been installed at the community centre.

 

Please note: there is still work to be done to complete this project, however we will be inviting the community to an unveiling of this new piece of art in spring 2022. Stay tuned.

Hockey program for kids with autism starts in April

 

 

In partnership with the District of West Vancouver and West Vancouver Minor Hockey Association, we are pleased to offer a new hockey program for kids with autism

This program, for kids ages 5-13, runs on Satrudays, starting April 9 and is a wonderful introduction to the game of hockey.
